May I do exercise?
Yes, absolutely. After all, pregnancy and childbirth require peak performance from your body: stamina, strength, flexibility and inner calm are the ideal way to prepare for labour. Gymnastics, soft aerobics and stretching, swimming, running, hiking and cycling are ideal for pregnant women.
Not suitable are sports like horse-riding, surfing or Alpine skiing because the risk of falling is too high. Squash, tennis and golf are not suitable either as they involve jerky movements.
New tests have proven that women who take moderate but regular exercise during pregnancy normally give birth to stronger and healthier babies than non-active mothers.
