When and how often does a baby drink?

Offer your baby your breast when it is hungry. Your baby will then be fed according to demand and within a few days the milk production will have adjusted accordingly. If your baby’s appetite increases, it will want to drink more often: this will stimulate the milk production and more milk will be available. More milk production also means that the periods between drinking will automatically become longer.
