Current news

The rapid global spread of the corona virus is causing great uncertainty among parents and consumers.

For HiPP the protection of our small customers and consumers as well as the protection of our employees is our top priority.
Against the background of this responsibility, we are monitoring the effects of the novel corona virus very closely and will inform you promptly about any new development affecting our HiPP products.

Are HiPP products safe?

Yes, HiPP products are safe.
Our baby and infant food complies with the strictest hygienic requirements, which we ensure through comprehensive measures during production.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is also reassuring: there is no evidence that the virus can be transmitted via food.

For you as parents:
Always follow the general recommendations of everyday hygiene when preparing and storing baby formula and meals for your child.

  1. wash your hands thoroughly before preparing the meal and before feeding
  2. prepare the meals fresh and feed them soon after preparation
  3. store the products according to the instructions on the packaging

Can the virus be transmitted via packages or other surfaces?

A transmission of corona viruses via so-called "inanimate" surfaces is not yet known. An infection via surfaces such as imported goods, mail or luggage is currently considered unlikely.

It is much more important to consider thorough hand washing as the best protective measure, as recommended by the WHO.

Can there be supply shortages in trade?

As a producer of baby food we have a special responsibility at this time.
It is not only about providing baby food in HiPP organic quality. It is just as important to ensure the supply of our small customers with HiPP products in all our markets in the current time of increased demand.

Currently, we are well able to meet the market demand for milk formula and supplementary foods. However, we have also put together a comprehensive package of measures with which we are well positioned should there be additional demand. To this end, we have, among other things, adjusted our production volumes significantly upwards.

Baby food is no longer available in stores - what can I do?

Should there be a shortage on the shelves in your region due to stockpiling, please remain calm. We continuously deliver HiPP products in sufficient quantities to the trade.
Experience shows that the shelf will be filled again within a few days.

You are also welcome to take a look at our website - there our HiPP products are available online for you, which we deliver directly to your home.

What is HiPP doing to ensure the supply of baby food in my home country?

Due to the dynamic development of the situation, we evaluate this point daily and can assure you of the current status: We can deliver all our orders.

What consequences does the worldwide corona outbreak have for HiPP?

As things currently stand, the measures taken by the international authorities e.g. in Italy or Austria have no impact on our production and delivery capacity.

HiPP generally secures its supply chains as well as possible.
However, we have no influence on the behaviour of the authorities with regard to plant closures or the closure of certain regions. The situation may therefore change at any time. We are monitoring developments in Germany and internationally very closely and will adjust our measures accordingly.

What precautions does HiPP take for its employees?

We take the duty of care towards our employees extremely seriously.
Since the first information about the outbreak of the novel virus in China in January 2020, we have kept our employees informed continuously and comprehensively.

This enables them to behave correctly - both within the company and in their private lives.

Our care has three aspects:

  1. General hygiene
We have intensified all hygiene efforts and, for example, have set up a large number of dispensers for hand disinfectants in all buildings.
  2. Information and dialogue
We are in daily contact with our employees and keep them informed about the situation, for example. We motivate our colleagues to consider all possible aspects of self-protection and, in case of doubt, to stay at home once again.
  3. Actions
We are reassessing the situation on a daily basis and will decide on anything necessary to protect our employees.
For example, all official duties will be suspended until further notice.
Our employees are instructed to attend meetings with external partners, if possible via video or telephone conferences.
If the scope of their duties allows, we offer our employees the possibility to work from home.

Are internal events or events with externals delayed?

We take the duty of care towards our employees extremely seriously and reassess the situation every day. We are currently refraining from holding any major events. Important meetings are preferably held by telephone or Skype.
